* Smoking/vaping and the lighting of candles is not permitted within the cottage. The decks, waterfront or Dock. Smoking is only permitted in designated area.
* Harrogate North is a no-pet cottage.
* Water levels at the lake: you may notice that, when you arrive at the cottage, the lake level/shoreline may be different from the photos you saw on the listing. That's because water levels are controlled by the Trent-Severn Waterway(TSW). Historically, this means lake levels tend to be higher in June-July and drawn down in August-September. If you would like to learn more about water levels in Haliburton and Kawartha Lakes, check out this informative page on Parks Canada's website: " What is water management?" THE AREA
Whether visiting in the Spring, Summer or Fall there is lots to see and do in the area. Just a 10-minute drive from the Cottage is the town of Minden where you will find all the necessities for your stay with two grocery stores plus lots of food options when you don’t want to cook and of course Kawartha Dairies for a summer cottage tradition.
For the golfer there is both a 9 and 18 hole golf course within a 10 minute drive. For the hiker in the family there are many trails available throughout the Haliburton area. On our doorstep is the white water preserve where you can watch some serious kayaking on difficult rapids or even take part if you know what you are doing! In winter, Haliburton is renowned for its over 400km of groomed trails for both cross country skiing and snowmobiles. Down hill skiing is just 40 minutes north of the Cottage.
From a classic cottage movie theatre to the wolf centre, studio tours to fine dining there is lots to do in the Haliburton Highlands.
